About

My name is Melissa Rose David, and I am Honeybee Mama. Most people know me by Missy, and my nieces and nephews call me Aunt Rose.

Melissa is greek for “honeybee,” which is one reason why I’ve chosen the name Honeybee Mama; it’s who I am! Honeybees are social bees, industrious and creative in the way they work to make honey from the pollen in flowers. They are protective of the sweet things they create and of their families. I have a history of being a “busy little bee,” involved in many things, always excited to start a new project, and I find joy in bringing sweetness to the lives of those around me.

I have been called by some an “optimist to a fault,” and I’ll take that as a compliment! Life is hard, and never slows down, but it’s our perspectives that make our lives worth living or worth giving up on. Life is what you make of it; I say we get busy, make honey, and share it with others!

As long as I can remember I’ve desired to be a mother and a wife. I have two gorgeous children, Aidan and Alec.

I became a single mother in 2008, when I went through an emotional separation and divorce, which has been transformative to say the least. I’ve written more in detail about single-motherhood in my old blog, one for me, two for you. I am now privileged to be married to a wonderful man, Marc, who is truly the Prince I’ve searched for my whole life.

I am also the step-mother (not wicked I hope!) of his amazing children, Carter and Corrinne.

Together, we’re the modern day Brady Bunch, living in Tulsa, Oklahoma and loving it!

We love all things Tulsa, and do all we can to visit and promote locally owned businesses and restaurants.

I have a lot of jobs. I am a Tulsa Doula, childbirth educator, doTERRA Essential Oils Independent Consultant, sling maker, and an award winning blogger for TulsaKids Magazine. That all somehow happens while I also run around after our kiddos and maintain our home! Among my attempts at home remodeling, vegetable gardening, and general craftiness, I'm also a wannabe So-You-Think-You-Can-Dancer, and avid karaoke-er!

I’m an open book, and what you see (or read) is what you get. This blog is for me to share my heart and life with you, as well as to be an outlet for my business ventures.

Enjoy, and please comment!
