{my moment}

A moment captured from the week that captured my heart.
A Friday ritual inspired by Soulemama.

This was Corrinne's 5th grade musical, "I Want My Mtv." This was so fun on so many levels. Firstly, I know all the parents had so much fun helping to dress their kids, saying things like, "This is how Mommy used to fix her hair, honey!" and "Trust me, son, the mesh muscle shirt is gnarley."

Our girl did not choose leg warmers, hot pink ruffles or an Aqua Net hairstyle. No, she chose to dress like Michael Jackson, complete with one white glove. Can you find her? I'll help you. She's right behind the microphone, in the second row from the front, second from the right. You can see her head in between Run DMC and the older brother from the Goonies. Even better, they actually sang Thriller, which is her favorite song of all time. Aside from the one girl who had a speaking part who kept referring to Mtv as "Me-tv," it was a fantastic performance. Corrinne did excellent singing as MJ, and also played a ghost in the kids' reenactment of Ghost Busters!

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your moment in your comment.

Happy Weekend, Lovies!
