{my moment}

A moment captured from the week that captured my heart.
A Friday ritual inspired by Soulemama.

I love my job. I am so honored to be a doula and to be invited into the intimate experience of birth for each and every one of my special and unique clients. It is a gift in and of itself to have that privilege; I need no other gifts. Yet, many times my clients give me something extra, something unexpected. My clients who gave birth last Saturday to a beautiful baby boy had a very special experience. It was the closest thing to a homebirth I've ever seen in a hospital. This mom listened to her body and followed her instincts. She labored and birthed in beauty and peace and welcomed her baby with bravery and strength. It was just amazing in every way. As I packed up my things to leave, the mom motioned to the dad to give me something, and this was it. A one of a kind necklace with a honeybee, my first initial and a rose. They didn't even know my middle name is Rose. I am blessed!

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your moment in your comment.

Happy Weekend, Lovies!

That is so sweet. Our homebirth turned sour and ended up in the hospital, but my doula was incredible and stayed by my side the whole way throgh. You have a blessed calling and are a gift to others. Be well.

Thanks Appleshoe! I'm sorry to hear you didn't get your homebirth and I'm thankful you had good support. I hope everyone is healthy and safe! Having a positive experience I'd definitely more important than having your ideal experience.
