A moment captured from the week that captured my heart.
A Friday ritual inspired by Soulemama.
While I was in Cleveland at a family reunion this past week, I took it upon myself to scour the many photo albums compiled by my grandparents for pictures of all of the cousins. My goal is to get as many memories digital so we all have copies of them. It was incredibly fun to stroll down memory lane with my brother, cousins, dad, aunt and uncle.
After seeing this picture, I mentioned to my Aunt Connie (who insists on being called "Just Connie" so as not to be confused with HER Aunt Connie) that I wanted to make cookies for the family that afternoon. She got so excited and said she had the perfect project for me and little Corinna. Sweet, precious Corinna is actually my cousin's daughter, but we call her mommies Aunt Heather and Aunt Margaret, so she really feels like a niece. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had with this little girl - she is going to rule the world one of these days.
Connie had bought a box of cookie mix that came with frosting, sprinkles and popsicle sticks - a whole kit for making cookies on a stick. She was right. It was the perfect project for Corinna and me.
Baking with littles is so much fun to begin with, but it was such a precious moment for me to get to pass on the gift of baking and creating with the next generation of cousins. And those cookies were YUMMY. I'm only partially ashamed to say that we all polished off the ENTIRE batch of cookies on a stick by 3PM that afternoon!
If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your moment in your comment!
Happy Weekend, Lovies!
